The 'Me Time' bench as part of South Abingdon Nature Trails

As part of the South Abingdon Nature Trails we took on the challenge and opportunity to paint a bench specifically for the ‘Duck trail’ in the Marina Park. Dani (Mental Health Natters) holds ‘Me Time’ sessions for parents/guardians and carers, which offer a place to breath and connect to those whose priorities and work life involve caring for others first.

With this in mind, we created a ‘Me time’ session for the group to get involved in painting this bench. The design and concept behind it was nature, connection and vibrancy, as well as creating a ‘me time’ space for anyone that needs it.

The bench will be nestled in the trees central to the Marina Park and will be a pop of floral colour.

By creating the space as a priority it allows us to stop for a minute, and involving creative activities really does connect us to joy and being in the moment ❤️

The focus flower was a yellow rose – which symbolises those of us that has come before, as well as honouring our past. A reflection of nature and all our wonderful flowers, the colour ways match that of Mental Health Natters as well as Life Styling and the nature trails.
