🌼 You're Invited! A Summer Pop-up of Art, Nature & Community Fun in South Abingdon 🌞
Something special is popping up in South Abingdon this summer — and you’re invited! The Summer Art & Nature Pop-up is a free, creative event for all ages at Thameside Whizzer Park (Cotman Close). With nature play, art-making, and relaxed activities for the whole family, it’s all about bringing people together, making new memories, and celebrating our local green spaces.
This event is being held by Makespace and proudly supported by Vale of White Horse District Council, with activities led by a mix of local artists, creatives, and community makers.
What’s It All About?
Earlier this year, a new green space was created at Thameside Whizzer Park, a spot locals often call Cotman Close. As part of shaping this fresh community space, children from Thameside School helped co-create the first artworks, including colourful seed bombs to bring the park alive with flowers and nature.
We see this Summer Art & Nature Pop-up as a wonderful chance to build on that creative start, turning the park into a vibrant, welcoming hub for everyone. It’s all about connecting people with each other and with the green space, celebrating creativity, and shaping our neighbourhood together.
Whether you joined in earlier or are new to the park, you’re warmly invited to be part of what’s next.
