Oxfordshire Art Week in Abingdon & Earth Trust
What a week it’s been, setting up for Oxfordshire Art Weeks has been a lot of fun and a new experience for me. As I was approached last year, I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to create and enjoy the process. I am exhibiting in two locations – The Charter Abingdon with Makespace and The Earth Trust. The difference between the two is the Earth Trust is all my personal work and woven within the space they have created, the butterfly flower beds lead into the fabric flowers. Makespace has been a creative process sharing skills and having a variety of groups create the wild flowers.
What came out of it was collaboration, and wild flowers through fabric and art. This naturally led from the South Abingdon Community projects we embarked on at Thameside School.
What is Oxfordshire Art week?
For me an amazing opportunity to share art and be a part of the Oxfordshire community, a space where any creative can be apart of sharing their work.
Every May, artists and designer-makers across Oxfordshire exhibit their work in nearly 500 free and stunning exhibitions throughout the county, ranging from group exhibitions in large public spaces to individual artists showing in their own homes or studios.
The festival offers a fantastic opportunity to talk to artists and creatives about their work, watch demonstrations and even have a go yourself. Be inspired and entertained, browse, and perhaps choose a treasure to take home with you.
This exhibition shares the journey of the South Abingdon Arts & Culture project including artwork and documentation of workshops from 2023 and 2024. The exhibition also includes artwork from the Charter Studios resident artists and local artists connected to the space. The focus of the work is community, heritage and connection.

This collection integrates art and flowers with a focus on multiple textures. By repurposing clothing and upcycling materials we already possess, we embrace a sustainable method of artistic creation. Through collaboration, we are able to breathe new life into broken jewellery and clothing that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
This collection has been about skill sharing and a collective effort.

Immerse yourself in beautiful artwork inspired by the natural world
We’re bringing together an exciting range of local artists for this year’s Oxfordshire Artweeks in our pop up gallery, a beautiful converted 19th Century barn. From ceramics, acrylics and oils, to sustainable fashion and upcycled jewellery, nine creatives will be sharing a selection of their work and talking to visitors about the techniques they use, and the eco themes that inspire them.
My creative practice explores how nature’s distinctiveness mirrors our own. These wildflowers symbolise freedom and uniqueness.
